jens schreibt "Das PHP-Nuke Buch von mir (Jens Ferner) ist gerade in der 2. Auflage erschienen. Die 1. Auflage war innerhalb von 4 Monaten ausverkauft - nun folgt die 2. Auflage, nochmal um ca. 100 Seiten erweitert und natürlich auf die neueren PHP-Nuke Versionen aktualisiert. Speziell im Kapitel 4 (Workshops) habe ich viele neue Ideen und Anregungen aufgenommen.
Stärker ausgebaut wird in den nächsten Wochen der Online-Service zum Buch. Bereits bisher erhalten alle registrierten Leser die sonst kostenpflichtigen, aktuellen PHP-Nuke Versionen umgehend nach Erscheinen kostenlos als Download. Zusätzlich gab es bisher immer kostenlose Online-Updates, etwa zur Funktionsweise des neuen Adminbereiches nur innerhalb von 48h nach Erscheinen der neuen Version. In Zukunft werde ich versuchen, das Online-Angebot sinnvoll zu erweitern.

I got an email today asking me if there was a bug on my site. The person mistyped the url as http://www.nukescripts.net/index.php/ and it caused an interesting effect. The index page loaded but would not load any of the style of graphics it should have. I then tested that with /admin.php/ and it caused the same effect. While this is not an exploit it is very upsetting that it happens at all so here is the cure: Open your mainfile.php and put:

}
right after the opening < ?php.

If you use Apache and have access to either the httpd.conf file or the .htaccess file, you can use the following code at the server level:

Hi Nukers! After a hard work that I describe as detective job, PHP-Nuke 7.6 has been released and the version 7.5 is available for free in the downloads section as usual. As you see, there isn't any change in the distribution model of the software, it remains as it's now. Ok, this new version has a detective's job on it because now you can rename the file admin.php to improve security, obviously this change required lot of files modifications... all call to admin.php which are tons! but it's done thanks to many suggestions.
There are also several bugs fixed, some extra security checks, more variables validation, etc.
A new nice feature that I know all you'll enjoy is the complete support of Mozilla FireFox browser. It's now counted in the statistics and additionaly any PHP-Nuke site will be compatible with the Live Bookmark feature that grabs the RSS content of backend.php file.
Special thanks goes to chatserv of nukeresources.com who has been of great help as usual by digging and fixing stuff and all of you that in one manner or another helps with ideas, code, suggestions, fixes, etc. See the changelog.txt for credits details.
Now, some days of rest and next week I'll start to work on the next version which will be focused in new features since the code is now pretty secured. The big work on the next version will be the new banners/advertising system. I pretend to re-write it in order to create a more flexible system with lot of features customizable by the admin or your customers (as you wish). This system should have support for Google Adsense, Fastclick, Flash content, Javascript content, text/html content, graphics, etc. I just know that I want to come up with a very complete ads solution so you can be more productive on your site.
Anyway, I'll be writting updates on this as it goes forward. For now, I hope you can enjoy this new version. Have a nice day!
